Steve Maritz has continued the family tradition of business excellence and corporate philanthropy while blazing a trail all his own. Through his support of Mathews-Dickey, Maritz has been influential to thousands of young women by helping them to attain career readiness through hosting The Sky Is The Limit for the past six years. This support has helped to give these youth the tools needed to not only succeed in their careers, but also in life. Maritz has helped to make an impact within the community by donating to non-profits who share their values of innovation and results.
Maritz has been the chairman of Maritz Research Inc. since 2001 and serves as its chief executive officer. Maritz also serves as chairman and CEO of Maritz Travel Company. He began his career with Maritz in 1983 as an account executive, calling on AT&T. As he rose through the sales ranks, he moved to Detroit to support Maritz’s automotive clients. He went on to run the sales and marketing organization of Maritz and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer since 1997. He is active in the community, serving on the boards of the John M. Olin School of Business, the Variety Club, Laclede Gas, and the Greater St. Louis
Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
He also has served as board and general chair for Fair Saint Louis and its foundation, a member of the John Burroughs School Board of Trustees, chairman of the Civic Progress Community Life Committee and the 2006 Greater St. Louis United Way chairman. Maritz graduated with a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology from Princeton University.
