Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club outstanding alumnus and long-time director, the Rev. Earl E. Nance, Jr., accepts the gavel from retiring board chairman, the late Rev. William G. Gillespie. In 2010, the Club's 50th Anniversary year, Nance was appointed to preside over the director team that will guide the Club successfully into the next half century. Gillespie, the Club's chairman since 1975, is becoming the organization's chairman emeritus and was honored during the 50th Anniversary President's Day Parade with the naming of the board room in his honor.
In his previous position as vice chairman of the Mathews-Dickey Board, Nance played a key role in the organization's growth and success. Nance carries on a family tradition of board service at Mathews-Dickey, started by his father, the late Rev. Earl E. Nance, Sr.
