Champions sports opportunities for St. Louis
The That’s A Winner Award is presented to David Peacock for his tireless efforts to champion sports opportunities in St. Louis ranging from leading efforts to build new National Football League and Major League Soccer stadiums to chairing the St. Louis Sports Commission board. Peacock will accept the award on stage at the Martin L. Mathews Awards Program & Benefit Concert during Mathews-Dickey’s Family Reunion Weekend.
A native of St. Louis, Peacock is currently the President and COO of Schnuck Markets, a 104 store grocery retailer operating in five Midwest states, with sales of $2.5 billion. Peacock joined Anheuser-Busch in 1992 and served many roles in management, financial planning, and marketing reporting to the CEO. In 2007, he was named Vice President of Marketing for Anheuser-Busch, revitalizing the company’s marketing approach. As the brewery’s president, Peacock led the integration of the company with InBev in the U.S. delivering over $2 billion in synergies. These results led to him receiving the Maverick Award, an award given annually to the person making the biggest impact on the US beer industry.
After leaving Anheuser-Busch, Peacock was appointed by Missouri Governor, Jay Nixon, to lead the task force to keep NFL football in St. Louis in 2014. Peacock is currently chairman of the St. Louis Sports Commission, member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Trustees, member of St. Louis’ Gateway Arch Park board of directors, former chairman of the Beer Institute (the U.S. beer industry’s policy organization in Washington DC), previous chairman of the St. Louis chapter of the American Red Cross, and currently a lead investor and chairman for Vitaligent, LLC that owns 77 Jamba Juice stores.
