Baseball has been thee American pastime for quite some time and for the first time in the history of Major League baseball, they have named an official hot dog. That lucky dog? None other than the Nathan’s Famous. In support of the transformational things the historic club is doing in the community to help bring baseball to children, Nathan’s proudly selected Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club to bring their mobile tour.
The club has a long history rooted in baseball and was actually founded by two baseball coaches in 1960. Last year Mathews-Dickey dedicated their newly erected Adam Wainwright Field at its Bob Russell Park, which will be officially opening this year. The three-part restoration project its part of is in its second phase currently. Located at St. Cyr and Bellefontaine Roads, this facility (10-field park) will become a pillar of the community, creating new opportunities for children to play, stay active and earn funds.
