Mathews-Dickey needs young men and business men ready to take the journey from Maleness to Manhood!
We are currently enrolling boys, grades 8 to 12, and men from all walks of life to serve as career-building luncheon partners for the 2016 program.
TIAA-Cref presents the Maleness to Manhood Workshop Series – a career-seminar in which professional men reach out to young men to provide guidance on career topics, experience on the important business skill of networking and offer scholarship dollars for college seniors. Thanks to the generous support of TIAA-Cref we are tripling the outreach of our program to serve 150+ (from approximately 50 in previous years) junior high-school and high-school-aged young men from the St. Louis and Metro East areas.
It all takes place on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the St. Louis Airport Marriott Hotel, 10700 Pear Tree Dr, St. Louis, MO 63134. The day is divided in two parts:
Morning Break Out Seminars: Following registration and continental breakfast at 8 a.m., students attend informative breakout seminars on various career paths from 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. They will have a chance to attend seminars by and interact with accomplished business men in the communications, engineering, finance, legal, medical, public relations, science and technology fields.
Career & Scholarship Luncheon: The career and scholarship luncheon takes place from noon to 2 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. There, each student is paired with a businessman as a career-building luncheon partner. ESPN Radio’s The Fast Lane Host Randy Karraker moderates the festivities. There are $1,000 college scholarships awarded by individuals and companies to students selected based upon their academic excellence, extracurricular participation and community service. Attire is professional.
Because of You

How to Participate | Students
All students must complete an application on-line. Please print a copy of the application and submit to your advisor, confirming enrollment. For seniors, please send your school transcript via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org for scholarship consideration.
How to Become A Sponsor | Men
Through TIAA-Cref’s support we are able to make the luncheon opportunity free to our mentors ($100 value per person) and some of your male associates. (Donations to support the program are optional.) If you can attend and/or would like to round up four additional friends at no charge, please do so and use the attached form. Donations of $1,000 by individuals and companies can help make a college scholarship possible.
