Felicia Shaw | Executive Director, Regional Arts Commission

Tremendous support of the arts across the region.

The Arts Advocate of the Year Award is presented to Regional Arts Commission (RAC) Executive Director Felicia Shaw in honor of tremendous efforts to support the arts not only at Mathews-Dickey but across our region. Shaw will accept the award on stage at the Martin L. Mathews Awards Program & Benefit Concert during Mathews-Dickey’s Family Reunion Weekend.

Shaw joined the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis as its Executive Director in 2015 with a goal to enhance our local arts scene and enable artists to ease social ills by addressing community needs. Previously, Shaw served for eight years as Director of Arts and Culture Strategy and Analysis at the San Diego Foundation, where she directed a portfolio of community and civic engagement programs including a fellowship program for creative entrepreneurs, a grant program supporting neighborhoods, an arts-based place making and community building initiative, and a leadership training program for arts administrators. Prior to joining the San Diego Foundation, Shaw was Program Manager at the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, responsible for implementing the annual grants program and a number initiatives designed to promote San Diego as a leading cultural tourism destination.

She currently serves on the boards of Grantmakers in the Arts (GIA), and Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+). Locally, she serves on the boards of the Greater St Louis Community Foundation and FOCUS St. Louis. Shaw has been recognized by several entities including the 2015 Amherst Wilder Foundation Shannon Leadership Institute, San Diego Magazine “Women who Mean Business” Award (2012), and numerous other awards.
