 College & Career Leadership Camp: Ages 13 – 18

Brand new this year, Mathews-Dickey introduces a camp tailored for enriching teenagers’ job and college preparedness: College & Career Leadership Camp. Metro St. Louis area call Mathews-Dickey home during summer days. comprised of two consecutive 5 week sessions, May 30th through August 4th and offered to teens ages 13 – 18.  New this year, the club introduces a camp tailored for enriching adolescents once they graduate out of the younger camp: College & Career Leadership Camp for youth 13 – 18 years old. The camp offers activities to improve skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, civic engagement, college preparedness and opportunity for recreation activities.

A combination of programs traditionally offered separately by Mathews-Dickey as well as new ones, the camp is tailored for teen development. For ten weeks, the young adults aged 13 to 18 will engage in activities to improve skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, civic engagement, college preparedness and, of course, recreation.

Young Entrepreneur Institute

A special part of the camp is the Jaylen Bledsoe led Young Entrepreneur Institute (Y.E.I.). In it’s third year, the program is expanding its partnership to include the University of Missouri – St. Louis Bridge Program and enhancing the participant experience. Students will spend two weeks (the weeks of June 6th and 26th) at UMSL, experiencing campus life, learning and food! Included in the camp, students will receive vouchers to use in the University’s cafeteria. Also in partnership with UMSL is the U.L.E.A.D. component of camp with a strong focus on legal and civic processes.

The  Y.E.I. program takes place over a period of two weeks and is an integral part of Mathews-Dickey’s 10-week Career & Leadership camp for teens.

When & Where

Participants should arrive to Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club 4245 N. Kingshighway Blvd. St. Louis MO 63115 each day. Sessions will be held at Mathews-Dickey with the exception of field trips and Y.E.I. (6/5/17 – 6/9/17 & 6/26/17 – 6/30/17), in which cases students will meet at the club and take a bus to their destination as a group.

10 week camp: Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

Session 1: 5/30/17 – 6/30/17

Session 2: 7/5/17 – 8/4/17

What’s Included

Each child receives breakfast and lunch each day. Participants engage in a host of educational enrichment and activities each day and have the opportunity attend field trips and a college campus which enhance their overall learning experience and help put theories into practice.

Session 1: $0

Session 2: $0

Maximum enrollment for the camp is set at 40 teens and each participant will enjoy the program for FREE thanks to generous sponsors.
