Jack Buck That’s A Winner Award: Bill DeWitt
President | St. Louis Cardinals
Designed the new Busch Stadium and integral in Cardinal’s support of youth baseball at Mathews-Dickey
Bill DeWitt is the winner of our Jack Buck That’s A Winner Award. He’ll be recognized on stage at The Fabulous Fox during the Martin Mathews Awards and Benefit Concert featuring Chaka Khan & El DeBarge!
Bill DeWitt III is president of the St. Louis Cardinals and has held this title since 2008. He comes from a baseball family following in the footsteps of his father, Bill DeWitt Jr. (owner, managing partner and chairman of the Cardinals), and his grandfather, the late Bill DeWitt (former St. Louis Browns and Cincinnati Reds owner). DeWitt has a great history with both the community and the Cardinal’s.
Under his leadership the Cardinals have generously supported youth baseball at Mathews-Dickey through the RBI and Redbird Rookies Program. This year, they have teamed up with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund to support the Adam Wainwright Cardinals Care Field at the Mathews-Dickey Bob Russell Park in Bellefontaine Neighbors. DeWitt has shown our youth that dreams are attainable if you never stop trying!
DeWitt received his undergraduate degree from Yale in 1990, and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1995. Previously DeWitt was head of merchandising and senior vice president of business development for the Cardinals. These experiences led up to his design for the new Busch Stadium that opened in April 2006. He enjoys ice hockey, golf and spending time with his wife Ira, son Will and daughter Natalie.
