Kobe Dozier: Scholar-Athlete Award

Kobe Dozier |Senior, North Tech High School

Football player, high performing student and avid volunteer

Kobe Dozier is a scholar-athlete, maintaining a 3.2 GPA as a rising senior at North Tech High School and will accept the award on stage at the Martin L. Mathews Awards Program & Benefit Concert during Mathews-Dickey’s Family Reunion Weekend. Dozier has been a member and volunteer of the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club since he was six years old. Growing up, he would always help along with his mom and brother with the football team and other sports events.

As a member, he has participated in a variety of programs including football, baseball, RBI, and Red Bird Rookies. Dozier was initially attracted to volunteer with Mathews Dickey because the organization had always been a part of his youth, allowing him to meet many friends and family members through it.

Outside of Mathews-Dickey, Dozier has also volunteered at his church. He has also received the First Team All-Conference Athlete award and been a Youth Ambassador. Outside of volunteering, Dozier’s hobbies and interests include bible study and teaching black history. For him, education is important because it acts as a means to learn from the past and present in order to be prudent and make wise decisions in the future.
