The Biography of Martin L. Mathews…Coming in 2017
Martin L. Mathews the Man
Martin Mathews came from humble but very strong roots. One of 13 children, he grew up in tiny Neelyville, Mo., where his parents, Ned and Amanda, read to him from the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. Though he never finished high school, Mathews was so savvy, so wise that he commanded the attention of corporate titans and U.S. presidents. More importantly, he drew a following among tens of thousands of St. Louis boys and girls who joined the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club over the last half century. His life is a testimony to the American Dream and it lives through the children (now many adults and captains of industry) who Mathews touched and inspired.
