Martin Mathews Retirement Benefit Concert Featuring The Isley Brother’s

The St. Louis Community came out and celebrated Mathews-Dickey Co-Founder Martin Luther Mathews’ Legacy

Retirement Benefit Concert at Fox Theatre Starred The Isley Brothers with Ronald & Ernie Isley.

The world-famous Isley Brothers, featuring Ronald & Ernie Isley, performed a benefit concert for the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club Feb. 21, 2015 at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. This event marked Co-Founder Martin Luther Mathews’ retirement as our President & CEO this past November and celebrated his 90th birthday this past February and contributions made to improving the lives of 2 million children over more than a half-century of service to our community.

Platinum Co-sponsored by Centene and Emerson with Gold Sponsor Ameren, the evening commenced with a VIP dinner for premium sponsors at 5:30 p.m. followed by a one-hour tribute to the Club’s emeritus president for all attendees at 7 p.m. and an unforgettable performance by the Isleys immediately following. Net proceeds earned sustain the legacy Mathews created of providing education enrichment, cultural arts & health, sports & recreation and summer day camp programming for thousands of metro area children.

The honorary co-chairs were St. Louis Rams Chief Operating Officer and EVP of Football Operations Kevin Demoff, St. Louis Cardinals President Bill DeWitt III, St. Louis Blues Chairman Tom Stillman and Fox Associates Owner Mary Strauss.

The Isley’s delivered an unforgettable show. The only group in history to continue making the contemporary pop and R&B charts more than five decades after their very first recording, The Isley Brothers are a musical institution whose unmistakable sound has been the major influence for countless superstars of the 80’s, 90’s and current era, including Nelly and Kendrick Lamar. Hits include “It’s Your Thing,” “That Lady (Part I),” “Fight The Power (Part I),” “This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You),” “For the Love of You” and “Shout.” All told, the Isley Brothers have 23 gold, platinum and multiplatinum records to their name.
