Where To Get Yours?!
St. Louisans are invited to come enjoy free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and support the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Club on Free Cone Day, Tuesday, April 4. How It Started
“Free Cone Day was originally started by Ben & Jerry’s in 1979 as a way to thank all of their customers and staff. Every year the company gives away over 1 million free cones, prompting their company slogan ‘be one in a million’.” This event is very unifying, bringing together people from all walks of life, neighborhoods and counties around St. Louis. It’s even been known to bring out local celebrities who want to promote the event but also support the non-profits community organizations chosen to receive the donations collected.
It’s About More Than Free Ice-Cream
This year Mathews Dickey has been selected as the recipient of the donations. The funds will be used to support the Club’s mission of producing well-educated, physically active and hopeful youth with family at the center of its efforts.
“What’s not to like about free ice cream and making a difference in children’s lives?” said Mathews-Dickey President & CEO Wendell Covington, Jr. “We can’t thank Ben & Jerry’s enough for providing this fun and meaningful day in support of our Blue Chip Scholar-Athletes.”
