Urban Music Program
The Outstanding Club Alumnus and professional recording artist Jamie "King James" Dennis leads the Mathews-Dickey Urban Music Program classes focusing on song-writing, recording, studio technical and the eight fundamentals of hip hop: rapping/MCing, street slang, battling, beat boxing, graffiti art, street fashion/style, break dancing and DJing.
Dennis and his Lead Work Productions company devised the groundbreaking "Edu-tainment" concept. This unique musical blend of education and entertainment motivates young people to learn about history through hip-hop and encourages them to explore their own creative talents. Through this component, youth are introducing the profession and recreation of recording music in the Club's Music Studio.
