
Administration Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club. Without the thousands of individuals who lend their time and talents each year, the Club could not continue its important youth service mission. Providing specialized service opportunities is a key to the success of the Club's volunteer program. The following are volunteer administration opportunities:
ACTIVITY MONITOR
Responsibilities
- Direct traffic to various program activities
- Assist with monitoring vestibule and game room activities
- Assist with clerical work
Requirements
- Demonstrate a desire to work with children
- Knowledge of billiards and pool games
Hours
- Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
- Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m
DATA ENTRY SUPPORT
Responsibilities
- Input information on Microsoft Office and Works software
- Assist with data entry for other departments
Requirements
- Demonstrate desire to work with children
- Knowledge of the latest Microsoft Office and Works software
- Understanding and willingness to learn Club programming information
Hours
- Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
- Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m
RECEPTIONIST
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls
- Provide clerical assistance
- Greet visitors and assist parents
- Assist in maintaining membership files
Requirements
- Ability to work with children
- Excellent communication skills
Hours
- Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
- Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m
SECRETARY
Responsibilities
- Assist in typing general correspondence, sports rosters and finance reports.
- Assist in answering telephone calls.
- Provide sponsor and membership information to visitors.
Requirements
- Previous typing experience and knowledge of the latest Microsoft Office and Works software.
- Good communication skills.
- Desire to work with children.
Hours
- Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
- Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m
