Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club. Without the thousands of individuals who lend their time and talents each year, the Club could not continue its important youth service mission. Providing specialized service opportunities is a key to the success of the Club's volunteer program. The following are volunteer administration opportunities:

GIRLS' COACH (BASEBALL, BASKETBALL OR FOOTBALL)

Responsibilities

• Teach the fundamentals of sports
• Provide positive directions for youth
• Teach players how to communicate with others and succeed, on and off the field/court
• Assist volunteers, parents and members involved in program

Requirements

• Ability to work with children, parents and adult volunteers
• Organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to motivate youth and organize youth activities

Hours

• Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m (Hours may vary)
• Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Hours may vary)

GROUNDSKEEPER

Responsibilities

• Maintain upkeep of the grounds
• Operate riding lawnmower

Requirements

• Knowledge of landscaping
• Ability to operate riding lawnmower
• Remove debris from campus ground

Hours

• Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LIFEGUARD

Responsibilities

• Supervise recreational swimming
• Teach swimming to Club members

Requirements

• CPR certification
• USI certification
• Desire to work with children

Hours

• Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Responsibilities

• Monitor program activities
• Enter and maintain membership data
• Interact with and provide customer service for volunteers
• Help coordinate special projects
• Recruit volunteers for special activities

Requirements

• Ability to work with children
• Ability to develop programming ideas

Hours

• Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

STADIUM CONCESSION PERSONNEL

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving customers
• Prepare/serve food and beverages to players/parents
• Assist with stocking inventory

Requirements

• Ability to count money
• Enjoy working with people
• Desire to work with children

• Weekdays - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Hours may vary)
• Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Hours may vary)
